          I have been an English and History teacher and a Literacy Coach for 37 years in the beautiful state of Montana.
         I am a recipient of the National Council of Teachers of English High School Teacher of Excellence, 2018. A member of MATELA, the Montana Association of Teachers of English Language Arts, I have received the MATELA award of Distinguished Educator.            

            Growing up in New England, I have always had a fascination with American history evident in landmarks of the region. My grandmother’s house in Andover, Massachusetts, had an historic plaque by the front door, stating that the Marquis de Lafayette made a speech from its steps when he came to visit this country following the Revolutionary War.
          I enjoy traveling and exploring the mountains and lakes in scenic Montana.
